Career Focused Learning Model
Zacchono Foundation is a registered non-profit purpose-directed organization established to intervene and support education delivery in rural areas. It was established in 2018 by a group of education activists in the Eastern Cape to rerform citizen duties of supporting young people by providing skills required by the markets.
Zacchono Foundation was established in 2021 as an intervention project to improve schooling in the rural areas of the Eastern Cape Province. The driving agenda is the number of school- going children out of schools, young people with qualification that do not translate into employment leading to better livelihood, poverty requiring at least one child per homestead to save the household from hunger and poverty through education.
Ngenelela School Support Project (NSSP) intends to improve the participation of black communities in Medicine. Engineering and Accounting professions. To achieve that objective, Zacchono Foundation has developed a project that
focuses on increasing success rates in Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Economic Management sciences in Grades 7. 8 and 9 (Senior Phase of NQF).
This will be coupled with intensive teacher development, learner career orientation and school improvement planning in general. The main aim of the project is to sharpen content development, concept understanding and application at an early age of learning. ICT will be made an integral part of learning as we are in the 4IR season in the world.
